Shipping to Canada from UAE
- Research and Reviews : Search for movers with proven experience in UAE to Canada relocations. Check verified platforms such as Google and Trustpilot to read genuine customer reviews and learn about the company’s reliability and service quality.
- Recommendations: Ask for referrals from friends, colleagues, or relatives who have already relocated from the UAE to Canada. Their feedback can help you identify trusted service providers faster.
- Movers And Packers To Canada : This is where Universal Relocations stands out. With years of expertise in handling UAE-to-Canada moves, we ensure professional packing, safe shipping, and on-time delivery. Our global network, modern equipment, and highly trained staff make the entire relocation process efficient and worry-free.
- Experience : Choose movers who specialize in international relocations, especially those with a proven record for UAE to Canada shipments. Experienced movers are familiar with Canadian customs regulations and can handle logistics more efficiently.
- Accreditations : Request written quotations from multiple companies. A professional mover will visit your location, assess your goods, and provide a detailed quote. Avoid low-cost offers that seem unrealistic, as they may hide hidden fees or poor service quality.
- Insurance Options : Always confirm that your belongings are insured during transit. Reliable movers offer comprehensive insurance plans to protect against loss or damage while shipping to Canada.
- Storage Options : If there’s a time gap between leaving the UAE and settling in Canada, check whether your mover offers safe and climate-controlled storage facilities at both ends.
- Communication : Good communication is key throughout your move. Choose a company that provides timely updates, clear information, and responds promptly to your concerns.
- Inventory List : A trusted mover will prepare a complete inventory of your shipment before packing. This ensures transparency and helps keep track of every item during the move from UAE to Canada.
- Contracts : Carefully review the contract before signing. Make sure you understand all terms—delivery timeline, insurance details, cancellation policy, and any extra costs—to avoid confusion later.

TYPE OF SHIPMENTS
Shipments from the UAE to Canada can be categorized into FCL (Full Container Load) — available in 20ft or 40ft containers — LCL (Less than Container Load), baggage shipments, and air freight. You can choose to move your entire household, send part of your goods, or simply ship a few boxes. Universal Relocations provides customized shipping plans based on your specific needs. With offices in the USA, India, and Dubai (UAE) and over 26 years of relocation experience, we understand how important every shipment is and treat each move with the utmost care and attention.
Years of Experience
RECOMMENDED THINGS TO SHIP
We recommend shipping valuable and high-quality items such as LED televisions, leather furniture, beds, mattresses, and electronic appliances (like home theatres or music systems), as these can be expensive to replace in Canada and often carry sentimental value. While TVs and other electronics can be shipped safely, remember that Canada operates on 110 volts. Therefore, you may need a step-up transformer or compatible converter for your devices to work properly after arrival.
Exemption from Duty Under Transfer of Residence (TR) – Eligibility
When relocating from the UAE to Canada, certain used personal and household items that you’ve owned and used for over a year can be brought in duty-free under the Transfer of Residence allowance. The following items typically qualify for exemption:
- All Used Items More Than 1 Year
- Furniture
- Clothes
- Bags
- Books
- Shoes
- Kitchen Appliances
- Utensils
- Washing Machine
- Refrigerator (less than 200 liters)
- 1 Laptop
- 1 Desktop Computer
DEPRECIATION
If you know the duty rate for a specific item, it’s easier to estimate the amount payable. For used items, customs usually determine the value after applying annual depreciation. The typical depreciation structure is:
- First year depreciation @ 16%
- Second year depreciation @ 12%
- Third year depreciation @ 10%
- Hence, for an item that is four years old the price works out to the new item price less 38%.
Restricted/Prohibited Items
Certain goods cannot be shipped or imported into Canada under customs regulations. Make sure none of the following are included in your shipment:
- Pornographic material
- Obscene literature
- Narcotics
- Wildlife items (e.g., ivory, horns, etc.)
- Firearms, ammunition, and other weapons
