TYPE OF SHIPMENTS
Shipments can be classified in to FCL (Full Container Loads, Called as Half a Container, 20ft and and 40ft Container ) LCL ( Less than container loads ) , Baggage shipment and Air freight. You may choose to either ship a full house or move part of your goods or just ship a few boxes. Universal Relocations will work out a tailor made proposal based on your requirement. RECOMMENDED THINGS TO SHIP
We recommend that shipping of LED Televisions, leather furniture, love seats, beds, mattresses, electronic items (i.e.: music system, home theatre etc.) are worthwhile items to ship considering the huge cost in India and at the same time due to the sentimental value attached for having used it for so long. Items like Tv s and electronic stuff can be shipped but a step down transformer needs to be bought in India for converting from 110 Volts to 220 volts ,some TV you need buy NTC and PAL Converter.

SURVEY, VOLUME ASSESSMENT AND QUOTE
On the spot surveys can be done, the volume may also be ascertained via online auto volume calculator or through a simple phone call by listing the items if they are few in number. Once the volume is determined the quote can be prepared and sent within the next couple hours. The customer can then review the quote and have a direct telephonic discussion with the assigned Sales Manager to clarify any queries he or she may have. The client has an option to opt for full packing, partial packing or choose to pack by themselves leaving Universal to pick up the shipment and ship it to India. In case of customer self packing, it is hereby advised to use only double walled heavy duty carton boxes.
EXEMPTION FROM DUTY UNDER TR (TRANSFER OF RESIDENCE) ELIGIBILITY
All Used Items more than 1 Year – Furniture, Clothes, Bags, Books, Shoes, Kitchen Appliances, Utensils, Washing Machine, Refrigerator less than 200 Ltrs, 1 Laptop, 1 Desk Top Computer.
DEPRECIATION
In case a person knows the rate of duty for a particular item, it's easy to calculate the duty that will be charged. However, for used items the value is determined by allowing depreciation on a yearly basis. Normally depreciation would be calculated as:

INSURANCE
Is Optional, but highly recommended for International Shipping – Considering the damages prone to happen during shipping and handling. Insurance Premium – Minimum $ 90 – Good for a value Up to $ 3000. Exceeding $ 3000 value, premium would be charged @ 3% on the total declared value.
Coverage is available for individual damages to the items, for individual loss of items and for the entire shipment loss under Catastrophic. Subject to shipment is packed by a certified or a licensed mover.
Packed by Owner shipments – Paying a minimum premium of $ 90 or 3% on the total declared value – Coverage is available for Individual loss of boxes and for the total shipment loss under catastrophic. Does not cover for any individual damage to the items and for individual loss of items. Maximum Value per Box – Not to Exceed $ 500.
For all PBO shipments – Baggage/LCL/FCL - 2.5% on the total declared lumpsum value or a minimum $ 75 premium. Coverage is available only on the total shipment loss under catastrophic – Not available for partial loss.
When the customer is not opting for any insurance, signed the insurance waiver, in the event of loss or damage when the shipment is in our possession, claim as per Movers Liability - $ 0.60 per pound per package will be provided.
$ 250 on the total claim value.
